helpful but not necessary

This is helpful if the player wants to sing and do drums or play guitar simultaneously but is completely unnecessary if playing with a group and you have separate players on instruments and vocals. Well made, fits microphone and drumsticks perfectly.
Not as bad as you might fear ....

OK, so I almost didn't buy this after reading the reviews. But I did, and hey: It was actually pretty cool. I had no trouble assembling it, and while it is definitely not as nice as the mic stand that came with Beatles rock band, it's fine. I'm glad I got it, but also glad I didn't pay much for it.
To be fair...the quality is inline with the price.

This product is very much a "you get what you pay for" type item. That statement isn't meant to be bad necessarily.

I bought this item because it was inexpensive and I didn't want to invest much in an accessory that we wouldn't use that much. Accordingly, that is what it is...and inexpensive accessory that serves its basic purpose for occasional use. It has its pros and cons.

Pros:
-It is very lightweight....My kids like it a lot for that very reason (as it is easy for them to use and move around).
-It comes with an extra set of drumsticks....They're useful as a replacement set and seem even sturdier than the original drum sticks that came with our Rock Band 2 game.

Cons:
-The base is wobbly. Due to the fact that it is lightweight and the base has 4 x legs in an "X" pattern, it is not very stable (at least on carpet...although it is flat carpet). A solid round base might perform better.
-The microphone cord clip is cheap and constantly pops off.
-It does not adjust quite tight enough when raising or lowering. It does stay in place, it is just a little too easy to move it out of position if you apply a slight amount of pressure. (This is simply because it is all plastic. It functions okay for "what it is" in this regard).

My biggest complaint/frustration is that it is so wobbly. Yet, it doesn't fall over unless pushed. We use it on flat (industrial style) carpet. It might work better on bare floors; however, due to the weight it would probably still wobble.

In the end...

Does it serve its purpose? - YES
Would I buy it again? - Probably not. Yet, I didn't return it...as I felt it was worth the price paid.
My kids love it. It adds to the whole "Rock Band" experience for them .
very cheap plastic. Already broke the day it came.

Okay, so I thought this would be very fun. I was right, but the whole thing is made of cheap plastic and it broke within the first hour of play. I glued it and waited a day. So far the thing has broken 4 times and I have to keep super glueing it back together. I feel like it was a total bust. On a side note: The person who sold it to me does excellent business!! IT arrived super fast and in perfect shape!
Cheap, will not last

The plastic is not durable at all. The mic stand (where the mic connects to the stand, broke the first night we used it. Other than that....a good product...if you are just looking at it.
